An experimental film about the Coalfields of Collie, southwest Western Australia. This film was made for Petrocultures 2024 (southern hemisphere/Perth) by Perdita Phillips and Annette Nykiel.
Made with local coal and charcoal, ochres and natural plant dyes. Sound recordings include powerlines and other vibration recordings and sonification of geological stratigraphy.
