Over the last few years I have been investigating the boundaries between the human and nonhuman worlds — how people both relate to and represent animals in the wild, in zoos and museums. As a sculptor I am interested in their material and spatial presence in the world, but my work is generally driven initially by ideas or concepts, which then take various artistic forms including sculpture, installation, video, drawing, photography and sound art.
